Desire of Your Heart

A way is revealed
With gentleness and kindness
Love will come in a whisper
When you long to know
You seek God’s wisdom above all
Make knowledge of truth your aim
There is one constant
A surprise to discover
It’s unfailing love
In seeking the truth
Being disciplined to think
I found in desperation
A hunger for life
Simple answers do not work
Honest questions saved me
It is too good to be true
Wisdom and understanding
Is available to all
Who delight in God
Yes, it is the truth
One must practice believing Him
Take Him at His word
What’s the desire of your heart
There are promises for you
If you delight in the Lord

Another World

You came from another world
Giving a view of your heart
A heart of love for the weak
Grace for the wounded
In one man I found
Immersed in humanity
Broken and alone
Driven by a higher love
A love invisible but real
With powerful love he came
From another world
No eye has seen, nor ear heard
No mind can conceive of this
An intimate God presence
A love without end
Holy Spirit come
Come and heal the wounded hearts
Those grieving massive losses
Bring hope and comfort
Your promise brings life
The other world becomes real
When I trust you
No one can fathom
The depth of love that you have
Open my eyes, Lord
We have a mission
A calling to walk in faith
Proclaiming this love
Our Father gave his own son
Watched him die, kept silent
Raised him from the depths of hell
Pursued us with love

My daughter Sara gave me the inspiration for today’s post as she pointed out how many times Jesus spoke of the “world.”

It has been my experience
And I’ve heard thousands whisper
Their deepest desperate hurts –
Light appears in the dark
I met love at the bottom
This is a strange paradox
Going down led me upward
A treasure found
Life’s pain is like a furnace
The soul is refined by fire
Hope is born in the process
Joy is discovered
Why do some understand
And other’s don’t seem to see
I think I have a clue
Please consider this
Choose to see that you are great
A joy to behold

True loves pursues you
Wait and love will come to you
Be silent, listen
In solitude are treasures
A secret hidden wisdom
Available to seekers
Who learn how to rest
I must stop the noise
Hear the calming words of love
Already given
You’re my beloved
You’re the apple of my eye
A refreshing drink
