My Desire
February 25, 2015
*
As I prepare to enter the soul country of the lives broken by terror the Psalmist led me to write my response to these Psalms. 25, 55, 85, 115 and 145. Slow down and listen to the unseen voice of the Maker of the Heavens and the earth and get in touch with “Your Desire.”
*
My desire is to bring you
My life, my soul, my passion
Show me and teach me your ways
Guide me in your truth
*
You’re the healer of my soul
Lifted me out of the pit
Quenched my thirsty soul
In quiet I come
*
When I am silent
I remember my failures
My weaknesses I ponder
I hunger for you
You receive me with kindness
Your mercies draw me to you
*
When I draw near you
You always come with your joy
Incomprehensible love
Rooted in history
Promises that never fail
*
I choose to believe
This revelation of love
Confronts us humans
Who wander in wilderness
Looking for the face of God
*
I found the freedom
To live spontaneously
Meditate and consider
Accept my failures
And the failure of others
See through eyes of compassion
*
it’s fun to be free
To know I have the freedom
To choose what makes sense
Many voices are calling
I found one I can trust
*
The past affirms this
The present brings me His peace
The future I celebrate
Eyes opened by the Spirit
To see the unseen as the Real
*
The Gentle Way of Love
February 18, 2015
*
Light in the darkness
Peace in the midst of the storm
Joy larger than circumstance
Hope impossible
For those who believe in love
Death will have no hold on us
*
Love demonstrated
A life well lived speaks loudest
I have decided
Today I will choose to trust
My heart, soul and mind in HIm
*
I will name the enemy
The lie handed down to me
The empty dark way
My mother and father lived
And lost what really mattered
*
You are who they lost
Without love at the center
Everything breaks down
Religion; psycho-babble
Are built on the empty way
*
Love’s the foundation
Peace is the gift that’s given
Work of the Spirit
Modeled in one man who loved
Courageous, gentle and kind
*
You’re loved by God
The master truth of God comes
To those seeking truth
Who have the courage to stand
Who believe they are worth it
*
After winter spring will come
After death you will be raised
One came to overcome death
And give life to all
*
Darkness called me to seek light
Pain called me to seek healing
Through failure came forgiveness
Love came through a man
*
David, King of Israel stated: “Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless. With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.” Psalm 108:12

The Father’s Touch
January 24, 2015
*
What do I yearn for
Where does my heart go when still
I will seek your face
When you appear I’ll see your face
I have set my heart on you
*
My weaknesses still cry out
The sadness-es all around
So many lost in nothing
My inner soul weeps
*
The little sparrow
Finds a place to rest and sleep
God knows what is happening
I’ll praise His greatness
Enter into communion
With my Father who loves me
*
You’re my sun and shield
Light to find my way today
Protection from enemies
Angels to attend
To all those who will trust you
Who seek you with all their heart
*
Your power’s displayed
You do the impossible
When you are trusted
You surprise with your answer
Light comes, love’s demonstrated
*
Trust takes away fear
Anxieties are dispelled
I’m surprised by joy
Your living presence reveals
A Father in touch with you
*
There is no trouble
That he does not understand
And promises to take action
Of all the voices
I can choose who I will trust
A gift from the Father’s touch
*
I have fallen many times
Failed to trust, done it my way
Suffered the consequences
Felt desperation
*
I arise with His Spirit
Renewed by Eternal Love
Accepted, forgiveness given
Live today in peace
*
Reflections after reading Psalm 24, 54, 84, 114 and Proverbs 24. Sarah Young speaks to the promises in the pain in her book “Jesus Calling.”
Seeking
January 23, 2015
*
God looks to see if any
Are seeking to understand
Who’re longing to know His heart
Who really love Him
*
Some people are fools
Many say, “There is no God”
“There is no one who does good”
Fear paralyzes
They are overwhelmed with dread
Restore your people with love
*
Let me be one who’s seeking
Who walks in the light of love
Who forgives betrayers
One who forgives self
*
You alone understand me
Your Spirit is comforting
Explains to the Father’s heart
Meets me where I am
*
Give me your vision
I am larger than my pain
Your love is greater
Than all the circumstances
Your promises restore me
*
Creator of all
Master of all living things
You know what I need to learn
I sit in silence
Waiting with expectation
I pray you’ll find me watching
*

One Word Challenge
January 1, 2014
A teachable spirit comes
When you focus on one thing
That one thing will guide your ways
Be clear what that is~
What is the one thing
I know what it is for me
Bring it to one word
~
Yes, boil it down to one word
It’s the window to my soul
Join me and come up with yours
I’ll encourage you
~
No resolutions
Just one word to guide your heart
That will challenge your thinking
Inspire you to act
To do what is good and right
That will lead you to the joy
Last year my word was “action.” This year it is different. If you want to join me in this exercise, I would be delighted. You can share yours if you please. Happy New Year and all the best to you on your journey, my friends.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:4
My word for the year is “Presence.”

“rekindle the inner spirit”
August 4, 2009
~
Words thoughtfully spoken
Will bring refreshment and life
To those who are listening
A mystical love
The truth will come near
When honest thinking is there
Love will always win
written November 1, 2008
A quote shared at the Heartbeat Retreat 2009
In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit. – Albert Schweitzer, philosopher, physician, and musician (1875-1965)

run deeper
June 15, 2009
An oak whose roots run deeper
Will allow the tree to grow
Providing shade for all
So it is with life
~
How can a life run deeper
How does one attend to Life
Be still and it will get clear
I am listening
~
You will see all the options
You will define the issues
You will look for what makes sense
You want to live well
